South India has long coastal line on both sides. It offers plenty of choice for beach holidays like in Chennai, Mahabalipuram, Kovalam, Trivandrum and north of Kerala. South is also known for its age old temples which were luckily not destroyed unlike in the North by foreign invaders. In this South India tour we visit some best of old temples Madurai and Thanjavur. We also visit Periyar National Park, spend a night in house boat and at the end of the trip one week Ayurvedic Massage.

 

Day 01 : Chennai
Arrival and sightseeing of Chennai.
Day 02 : Chennai / Kanchipuram / Chennai
172 km/4hr. Drive to Kanchipuram, famous for South Indian silk. One of the seven sacred cities of India, also has been capital of Pallavas, Cholas Dynasties and Kings of Vijayanagar.
Day 03 : Chennai / Pondichery
160 kms/3 hr. Drive to Mahabalipuram shore Temple, continue to Pondicherry, once the French Colony.
Day 04 : Pondicherry / Thanjavur
200 kms/5 hr. Drive to Thanjavur Palace, Brihardishwara Temple and Fort.
Day 05 : Thanjavur / Madurai
197 kms/5 hr. Drive to Madurai known for its famous Meenakshi Temple built in 1823 - 55 AD.
Day 06 : Madurai / Periyar
130 kms/3 hr. We drive to Periyar National Park.
Day 07 : Periyar Wildlife Park
Game viewing in Periyar National Park.
Day 08 : Periyar / Munnar
Drive through tea and coffee plantations of Munnar ,which is the only Hill station of Kerala.
Day 09 : Munnar / Cochin
120 kms/3 ½ hr. Early morning drive up the hills to possibly see Nilgiri Thar. Thereafter drive to Cochin.
Day 10 : Cochin
Sightseeing of Cochin Synagogue, Chinese Fishing Nets and spice market.
Day 11 : Cochin / Allepey / Backwater
Drive 60 km to Allepey from where we sit in a houseboat on the backwaters of lakes, lagoons, canals and nearby villages. Overnight in the House Boat.
Day 12 : Backwater / Kovalam (Ayurveda Treatment Resort)
Drive to Kovalam, beach town of Kerala for sight seeing. For overnight we return to an Ayurvedic Health Resort where we start your Ayurvedic Treatment from next day.
Day 13 - 19 : Kovalam
Body Purification Ayurvedic Treatment for 7 days. The treatment includes Rejuvenation Massage, Snehapanam, Nasyam, Medicated Purgetive, Snehavasthi, Dhara, Pizhil, Njavarakizhi, Karnapooram, Tharpanam, Sirovasthi, Steam Bath, and Internal Herbal Medicines.
Day 20 : Kovalam / Trivandrum / Chennai
Drive 25 km to Trivandrum for flight to Chennai.
Day 21 : Chennai / Departure
Transfer to the international Airport and flight back.
